I made two attempts to cross the ice cap alone on foot in the winter of 2000-2001. Both attempts were defeated; first, by an arctic hurricane, second by a maze of crevasses which blocked my way forward. You can read my narrative of the 2000-2001 season here: please keep in mind this is a long document (about 20 pages) which I haven't edited; it also includes some graphics, so may take some time to load. A final report will be filed with the Royal Geographical Society (London) on completion of the expedition.
