Looking ahead on the Skeidararjokull; crevasse after crevasse. Alone, these are deadly, so they took care to negotiate. When they were finally obscured by a very light blanket of snow, I turned back. Now they were obscured, and the bridges were too weak, and my safety limit had been reached.
