Frustrated at miles of bare ice and open crevasses, I decided to try to push on ahead despite many close calls. Days later, a light snowfally obscured the crevasses with weak snow bridges, a blanket of snow concealing countless 'deathfall' traps. I turned around to try again in more reasonable conditions.
