Halldor Kvaran, an Icelandic adventurer who helped me in many ways, for example, by transporting me to and from the ice cap edge in his tank-like snow machine. Halldor led a 6-person crossing of the ice cap in Winter 2000. Halldor is currently president of the Iceladic Alpine Club.
