Looking out the door as the snow accumulates. Blowing snow, or drift, can accumulate very quickly, and I was unable to keep up...By the time I came inside from a digging-out episode, and got undressed, the snow would be up to the windows again. Near the end, there was so little oxygen in the sled-hu that I couldnīt get a match or lighter to stay lit, and I couldnīt breathe properly. Each time I opened the door, though, for ventilation, piles of snow would pour in. I was losing a battle against the masses of snow blowing across the ice cap.
