The following photos are from the 2004 expedition, in which I finally crossed the ice cap from West to East, alone, on foot in winter, taking 29 days; no-one had attempted this route before. I travelled only for 11 days, the rest being pinned down by storms and repair work. My distance was roughly 140km, or or 86 miles.
