A bit of snow fell on the thrid night, and I popped out to shoot this picture. The snowfall increased dramatically afterwards, and I stayed in the sledhut for about 24 hours as it was wet snow, the worst kind. I then packed up and headed out. The big lump at the front is my backpack lashed to the top of the traces, which are buried in snow. The sled-hut is facing the predominantly South wind, which flows across and around the sled-hut very quietly. In the sled-hut, I sleep with my head at the tall end. The height can be adjusted: here you see the hut opened completely. You can just make out a window in the fabric wall at the wide end. Image copyright Cameron McPherson Smith, 2003.
